1.Flower paintings are a small portion of her body of work. About 200 of her 6000 pieces of art.

2. She was born in Illinois and went to the Chicago art institute and in New York and finally the University of Virginia.

3. Painted well into her 70’s and her art career spans 60 years.

4. She was one of the most photographed women of the 20th century,

5. She stopped painting 3 times, due to illness, financial troubles and failing eyesight.

6.In her late 80’s and blind she turned to sculpture.

7.She is the mother of American modernism and blazed trails for female artists

8. She painted abstract paintings as well.

9. She lived to be 98 years old.

10.11 years later the Georgia O’keeffe Museum opened in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Preserving her art and legacy.
